Gathering for worship is a central part of what it means to be a part of First CRC. Our weekly gatherings on Sunday morning and Sunday evening are part of the natural rhythm of the Christian life as God has established it. As we come and worship (which means to give honor to God) we find our place among God’s people, and also learn about how God’s story of redemption in Christ Jesus is part of our story as we are adopted into God’s family. Worship @ 1st CRC is by definition structured around God’s love, grace, and truth as has been revealed in Scripture. Our worship could be referred to as many things, but most importantly, it is focused upon God and His kindness and forgiveness of us, no matter how much we have fallen short of His perfect standard.
When you come to worship, you will be given an order of service similar to the sample order on the right column of this page. All of the readings, songs, and an outline of the sermon will all be up on the screen at the front of the worship area, and you can observe the service and participate as you desire. Our order of service may have many elements that you are not familiar with, and if you want to know more about each of these elements, just click on the element in the sample order of service to find out more!
As you worship with us we hope that you connect with our church family. We are excited to have the chance to meet new people and hear their stories. If you would like the pastor or one of the elders to follow up with you after a visit, please leave your name and address in our guest registry that is present at the entrance to the worship area, and introduce yourself to the pastor or one of the elders as the service concludes. We love to welcome new people, whether church is something that is new to your life, or something that has been a part of your life for many years.
Most importantly, we hope and pray that as you worship with us you come face to face with our Savior, Jesus Christ, and find peace, hope, and forgiveness in Him.
